Dr. C. E. “Jack” Jackson, III was called to be Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lenoir City in March of 2001. Prior to coming to the Volunteer State, he served several churches in his home state of Georgia. Pastor Jack received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he double majored in Religion and Philosophy. He received his Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey with a concentration in Church History. He received his Doctor of Ministry degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, with an emphasis in Evangelism and Church Growth. He has also served in numerous denominational positions of leadership, including Associational, State Convention, and Southern Baptist Convention agencies. Pastor Jack and his wife, Vickie, have three children: Andie, Caleb, and Micah.

The Place I Grew Up:  On a farm in what was at the time a very rural area in Fayette County, Georgia.

Hobbies:  Hunting, Fishing, Weightlifting, Travelling, Reading, Writing, Drawing, Collecting Old Books.

Favorite Movies It’s A Wonderful Life.  But also, most anything related to ancient history (Ben Hur, Cleopatra, Gladiator, King Arthur, The Ten Commandments, Troy, etc…), big animals (Jaws, Jurassic Park, King Kong, Moby Dick, etc…) the American west, (Jeremiah Johnson, The Outlaw Josey Wales, True Grit, etc…) or World War Two (The Longest Day, The Great Escape, The Bridge on the River Kwai, etc…).

Favorite Books: The Holy Bible, The Confessions by Augustine of Hippo, The Imitation of Christ by Thomas à Kempis,  See You At The Top by Zig Ziglar, As a Man Thinketh by James Allen, I Dare You by William Danforth, , The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale, and many more…

Something About Me You Don’t Know:  I harvested a 170+ Boone and Crockett 10 Point Buck on my thirtieth birthday and the story was written up in a magazine.

Most Memorable Moment In Ministry:  The time my father surprised me by expectantly coming hundreds of miles to hear me preach, neither of us knowing he would die just a few weeks later.

 Most Memorable Moment In Ministry: Planting Farley Community Church in Huntsville, Alabama.  It was the hardest, most rewarding years of my life.
